2012 G55 AMG
Kleemann modifications review
Hey guys, just thought I'd let you all know how the car (2011 G55, low mileage) performed after these upgrades from Kleemann:
Camshafts
Deleted primary cats
Boost kit (air filter, bigger crank pulley, lug type headers, ECU upgrade)
Performance: around town driving is pretty much unaffected. Under moderate to hard acceleration the power delivery is actually smoother and of course more pronounced. It's now possible while on automatic to reach 80km/h on first. Off road there is definitely more torque and it's now even easier to drive on sand and rocky terrain, though I have yet to push it to its limits on that front.
Sound: if you strain your ear you might notice a slightly louder idle, hard launches produce a pretty loud exhaust note. But the real gem is when it's under load at low speeds (40-80km/h), whereby it gives out a deep, satisfying rumble.
Hope this helps for anyone thinking of upgrading their G!
