G55 vs G63 reliability?
Hi guys
Which one has better reliability - mechanical, electrical, ...? I am looking to buy one by the end of the year and your input would help me decide. I am leaning towards the G55 for the no-lag engine, simpler transmission and interior. I am thinking the 55 is more reliable, being on the market for longer?
Basicalluy, which one would you take if it was the Apocalypse tomorrow?
Thanks in advance
Allan

I would go for the 63. I don't own one but I've driven one for a couple of weeks and it was fantastic.
IMO the 55 looks outdated from the interior to the exterior & you can easily get 600+ horses from the 63 with an ecu tune.

I'd take a G63 over a G55 and I've considered upgrading many a time. That said, the G55 remains an affable and reliable workhorse and I personally can't justify the upgrade. Zero is the number of times I wished the the G55 was more powerful or had 600HP.
Short story is you can't go wrong.
I do thank the MB for releasing the G63 as its helped prop up the value of late model G55s.
