whats it feel like compared to the g500? big change in accel?

There was one at my work today.. it was getting ready to be delivered to the customer soon.
The 2005 G55 is supercharged!!! so 5.5L supercharged AMG motor compared to non supercharged 5.5L motor or the older G55's!!
I never drove it or was in it while moving.. but it seems to really haul ***.. from what I saw!!
sounds so sweet too.. love the sidepipes on the G55.. and at idle it sounds so damn good.
I dont know HP ratings on it.. but Im sure its somewhere near 450... at least.

I took delivery of my 2005 G-55k late last month. It has exceptional acceleration, compared with the G-500, or most anything else , for that matter. The ride is unquestionably stiffer than the G-500, but I think it is somewhat improved over the earlier G-55s, although I have only driven one earlier example, and that only briefly. I would, without question, recommend the G-55k to anyone interested in a vehicle that combines high performance, luxury, off-road capability, and (relative) rarity.

I have driven 2 of the new G55Ks. One of them I had to 120mph. Good fast fun. I have not driven the G500, but i can tell you that the new truck is much faster than the '03 G55 that i drove. The G55 would run out of steam at about 70-75, where the new G55K seems to have the same feel to the 110-120 range. Ride quality has improved also. That and the brakes are much better suited to the new power increase.

I've owned a 2002 G500 and a 2003 G55. I loved them both and the G55 was noticeably faster than the 500. the 05 G55K is is in another stratosphere. It's the meanest sounding street legal vehicle that I have ever driven. MB estimates it's 0-60 time as 5.5 sec. Based on my drive it feels quicker, like in the low 5's. I would compare it's acceleration to my 2002 E55. It's really incredible that such a awkward looking, heavy vehicle could be so fast but the 5.5K engine is a true masterpiece and one of the great engines of all time.
