Brake pedal travel increased after brake fluid flush

Had the dealer replace the brake fluid. After doing so the pedal travel increased. Had them bleed the brakes twice and for a third time, I brought it to an indi. Brakes still feels spongy and travel stayed the same.

Could the shop have damaged something? Did I miss something?

Additional info:
•All brake pads and rotors were replaced about 5K miles ago
•Brake travel, while long, holds. It doesnt go any deeper when brakes are held.
•Brake hold function works
•2015 G63 with 106K miles

Spongy always indicates air pockets - always. I wouldn't say they've damaged anything yet - would be more curious the process used to bleed your brakes. I generally use the car running, straight bleed through using pedal pressure from farthest to closest - but I know some systems require positive pressure at the reservoir; that can be the determining factor.

So yes spongy/increased travel I'd say trapped air. Could test ∆P output at hoses/calipers if different procedures don't necessarily work. Following that I'd consider possible damage .Good luck

It was bled the right way, RR, LR, RF then LF. And for the fronts, each caliper had two valves. Those were done too.

Just to close this thread, turns out it was the master cylinder. No symptoms of damage or leaks but we were out of options so decided to just throw parts at it. Fortunately it worked.
