So we have a 23 G finally and decide to have it ceramic coated and clear protection while away at Europe. We get home, all seems good park it in the drive. Sun begins to set and lo and behold, a scratch about 6 inches long across the glass. You can feel it with your fingernail. This was not noticeable when we picked it up, but with the angle of the light, there it is. Detail shop says they will replace it. Of course they can't seem to admit that it happened there, but they said they will replace it. I hate that, we like the owner who did the install, but it is what it is.

What to do? Replace it or live with it? I hate monkeying with this. Will it leak? Will the professional installer damage something? Will it look factory as though it was never replaced? AAaarrrgg. Maddening and time waisting.

We want factory only of course local dealership price 2700 for the glass. Anyone had their glass done on a G63 with good outcome? What would you do? Hard to see in the picture...

Beautiful car. I would live with it because you are 90% likely to crack and replace that windshield every 10,000 miles

I had my 15's front windshield replaced about 2 years ago bc it was cracked. I bought the factory windshield w/ the heating elements and had it installed by my dealer. It took a week longer than they promised because "it didn't sit right" according to the service department manager so they re-did it.

I didn't notice it at first but there is a goop of paint damage (from the adhesive?) around the frame. If you are looking at the front passenger seat, it is at approx. 10 o'clock on the frame.

Mine is a daily driver so I've got plenty of dings and small paint chips just from being on the road (and driving cross country).
