Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and new to Benz. I've been trying to track down a specific spec g63 (deep green on saddle). I'm currently driving a 22 taycan 4s cross turismo but its a bit of a pain to get the toddler in and out of the carseat and I want something more lifted. I've found a deep green g63 that checks the boxes and am making a move on in.
I love the graphic front end of the older W460 and W463 G's, especially ones that have been modified for off road use. I'll be using mine for daily driving and weekend off road use.
I've seen backdating in the porsche community but have not seen much of it in the world of G...
This is my reference for how i'd like to modified the W464. I'm probably a minority on this but, I'm not a fan of the g63 bull bar, I actually prefer the g550 bar instead. I found this one company called Norlund that sells a bull bar that is sort of what im looking for: https://www.green4x4.cn/norlund-alum...es-benz-g.html
This is the list of things I'm looking to add, I'd love any suggestion on brands / companies / sites on where to purchase:
• blacked out grill, bumper and headlight surrounds
• brush bar from a g550 or norlund
• maybe custom fab some lower brush panels to cover the front bumper
• amber turn signlas
• roof rack & ladder combo
• ~20" beadlock rims
• exposed spare tire
My question to you all is:
1. has anyone "backdated" a 2019-2024 G63 to feel more like the older body styles from the 70's, 80's and 90's?
2. Which after market manufacturers are highly respected in this world of off road accessories for g63's?
