After 11K miles on a 2022 G63, I joined the windshield replacement club. Do not recall ever having an impact, but here we are. Does $4600 from a dealer sound right?

 

Your insurance should cover some of that. No labor charge listed? You can try safelite, but there are mixed reviews about them getting the right glass on first attempt and cslibrsting correctly. You want oem glass to maintain your vehicles value.

I used to live in New Mexico and one of my cars was a jeep wrangler. Usually had at least one small crack slowly propagating. There are rules and regulations as to what is allowable. So we would usually try to live with it for awhile as we went through so many windshields driving off road and on gravel. Alot cheaper back then. No thermal, accustic, HUD glass!

 

I put Expel Windshield Protection Film on mine and after 15,000 highway miles, it’s worked well.

 

I had my G550's windshield replaced about 3 years ago. Cost for OE glass + installation was about $3400 at an independent auto glass shop. It cracked top to bottom within 2 miles after getting a tiny nick from a small stone. OTOH, my Jeep Rubicon has 4 huge rock pits in it and refuses to crack. There are differences in glass durability and MB's isn't tops.
