Restoring a W136 170 Va from 1950
Hello everyone,
I just made myself an account on this forum since I spotted that a lot of people on this forum are fascinated by old Mercedes cars.
Here is something that might interest you:
I am currently restoring my Mercedes 170Va from 1950.
Bought the car in Sweden and transported it on a trailer back to Belgium.
I nearly drove 2000 miles in 2 days![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The car was stored in original state since 1968.
It was a really terrible job to get the engine running again.
At the moment I am painting the chassis. Afterwards I will finish the rolling chassis. The next step is to fix the bodywork and interior.
I try to record the progress as much as possible, so I can make youtube movies:
getting the car home:
rebuilding the engine:
Starting the engine for the first time:
rebuilding the gearbox:
Lifting the body of the chassis:
Hope you like it!
