1972 MB Sedan
Hi Guys:
I hope you can help. My buddy has a 1972 MB Sedan. I think it's a 250. Anyway the hood emblem is not on the car but he has found another. Can you advise me how to install it? It is spring loaded and there is a hook at the bottom that protrudes from the base a little bit. There is a slot that I assume it may go into but hesitate to go further without guidance. Can anyone out there help me?
Thanks Doug

All depends if you are replacing the star alone or if the star is already attached to the base.
The star is held in place by the tension in that spring. Just pull down the spring and there is a little hook that holds it in place. I use needle nose pliers.
If you need to attach the base as well there is a large flat piece of metal that is curved that holds the base and star in place that just slides into place.
Hope this helps.
