The year 2014's Pebble Beach events are behind us, and contrary to what every automotive writer in the galaxy is saying, you didn't miss much ... that is, unless you're into "blue sport coats and khakis, Johann Sebastian Bach, or old people," to quote the evergreen words of my indefatigable predecessor, Yoav Gilad.

OK, so because of how uptight Pebble Beach seems to me, I'm a little bitter about it, but not about the cars that event features, so for this week's Wallpaper Wednesday, I'm celebrating the one Mercedes-Benz that represents the amalgam of events that happen on any given August on the Monterey Peninsula: a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing.
