W109 M130 Coolant in oil
Looking for a little insight and guidance before getting into a major engine issue.
Have a 1970 280 SEL, W109 M130.
Runs great and reasonably good compression, but over a short period of time (estimated 100 to 200 miles) a significant amount of coolant has made its way into the crank case, evidenced by the telltale symptom of milky engine oil.
A cursory diagnosis would be a failed head gasket, but hoping to get some thoughts from those with experience with an M130 engine and a large volume of coolant in the crank case within a relatively short amount of time, on whether or not its commonly a head gasket, or is just as likely something different. Crack in the head/engine block crack/another component failure/voodoo curse etc.
If the integrity of the head is compromised, is it repairable, or better to replace the head?

Out Of Control!!
The one area you did not comment on was the exhaust---is any coolant getting to the combustion.
I would start the process by pressure testing the coolant system--wada you find??

Plutoe,
Will definitely do all the tests before pulling the head.
No white smoke or unusual amounts of water in the exhaust.
Compression and performance are fine.
Doesn't seem at this point to be a head gasket breach between coolant passages and a cylinder, which has me wondering about a gasket failure between coolant and oil passages in the head, or a crack.
