Hydraulic Suspension Valve

I have a 96 SL600 (W129) and I am having problems with the front fenders lowering onto the front tires for a brief second. It is tearing up the edge of the fender. MB told me a needed the subject part and with labor would be $3300. I'm really trying to not put that much money into the car. Has anyone had similar experience and if so is there an aftermarket part priced more resonability? Any help anyone could provide would be appreciated.

Thank you

David

Thanks for the response. I googled the part number and found it for $1150. The MB dealer wanted $1700 for the part. I was hoping someone on here had a similar problem and found the part either used (but good) or an aftermarket part that does the job for less money. Any advise would be helpful.

Thank you
