1969 280 se coupe
Hey guys
So I have a 1969 280 se coupe that I need to decide what to do with it. It is a two door with about 100K miles but does need a lot of work. Is this thing worth anything? Not sure how many people are looking for this type of a car since it is not the convertible optioned car and has the 2.8L 6.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thank You
Johan

What is the rust status? That is usually the deciding factor restore vs. part-out. In very good condition I think they can bring around 50K. Indeed the V8 engine is preferred over the I6 (especially the 2.8 which is prone to overheating). Do you have some pictures? Are you in Maine?

Yes the car does have some rust but that being said it is still in a condition where it can be brought back to life.
The interior of the car is in really good shape and the car is complete.
I actually use to work for a Mercedes restoration shop in Stow Mass where my parents bought the car from back in the late 80's.
The car is in Maine now and has been since my parents moved up here 10 years ago. I will try and get some pictures soon.
Thanks again.
