Unresolved issue: Ticking noise and locked boot on '81 280S
Hey guys!
The boot on my 81' 280S stays locked, even after I unlock the sentral system or turns the individual boot lock. I can see from this forum that a lot of people have experienced the same issue. Sadly, I cannot find a solution that helps me. So far, I have not started drilling in the lock, cut out a part of the metal behind the number plate or smashed any of the lights to gain access. First of all, does the european models have an extra emergency/safety mechanism underneath the back seat? I cannot find one.
Secondly, I found some mentions of ticking sounds coming from the front of the car in other peoples threads about locked boots. In my car, a ticking noise is heard for maybe ten seconds any time I open the driver door or hit the brakes. I guess it is electrical.
Does anyone have a solution for these issues? Could they be related in any way? Thanks!
