2008 MERCEDES-BENZ C350 SPORT, 1999 MERCEDES-BENZ C230 KOMPRESSOR

Needing a lil help...

Hey guys, I recently came across a car that I may purchase, but I am needing of some old school help identifying it. I tried looking up the VIN online and through my insurance and nothing came back from the data plate. The current owner isn't asking that much ($1000) and he says it runs hopefully. Any advice on the year and model would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

The engine is a 2.8L M110.985 inline gasoline powered 6 cylinder using Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection.
