1969 280se w108 problem when shifting
I bought an all-original 69 280se a couple of years ago from the original owner. Beautiful car. About a year ago, I was driving it and as soon as it went to shift from 2nd to 3rd (automatic trans), it lost all acceleration. I had to stop and let it shift back down, then it would accelerate again. Until it went to shift again that is. We pulled the transmission and rebuilt it. Finally got it back in today (it took me months to locate all of the parts to rebuild it). First test drive went beautifully. Shifted thru all of the gears and drove like a charm. Second test drive, unfortunately, did not. It’s doing the exact same thing. HELP!!! Has anyone else experienced this problem???

What exactly was replaced when the transmission was rebuilt?
Sounds like either a hydraulic or a vacuum related issue. Did you replace the hydraulic pump when the transmission was rebuilt? All (every one) seals and gaskets? Did you replace all vacuum components and hoses?
Also start with the easy stuff - is the transmission properly filled with the correct fluid? Are all connections secure: mechanical, electrical (if any) and vacuum?
