1972 Mercedes 350SL
Repaint Classic Mercedes

I have a 1972 Mercedes Benz 350SL. It is in fairly good condition but could use a paint job. The last time it was painted was in the early 80s. My question is, is there anything special I need to consider as I get some minor body work done on this car and get this car repainted. Are there body shops who focus on classic cars, do I need to request a certain type of paint etc. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing special about painting this car so you should have no worries...

Paint will not match so entire car should be prepped and painted by reputable body shop.

As long as you go to a reputable place with good reviews in your area you should be ok. Avoid those 250 buck paint jobs that will peel in 3 months!

1991 Mercedes 300CE
paint up grading

I'm looking for up-dated paint codes or current matching paint.
1991 Mercedes 300CE Factory ID plate: 512 (Garnet Red Met or Poly)
Anyone know the new cross referenced paint codes and current aftermarket paint manufacture?
More importantly the dull lower panels non metallic paints?
some models were two tone,
while other were the same monochromatic single color
Thanks

You may want to contact your insurance agent and ask him/her of good reputable collision shops in town. Or if you or your friend (s) know of a local automobile insurance adjuster in town : they have knowledge of the good shops in town. I worked for Farmers Insurance for 26 years as an auto insurance adjuster and know the good shops in town. Good shops will detrim thoroughly and fill in minor imperfections and will not just mask off moldings, etc. If you want quality on your investment , you may consider these points. I need to work on my own 1964 Mercedes 220S to have minor imperfections repaired in the body and then a complete paint. Enjoy your investment ! God bless and He will show you the way. Paul
