Question How's RWD in snow?

Hi!
This might be a dumb question, but how do you guys feel about RWD in the winter?
I live in Canada (Southern Ontario) and I'm seriously considering buying a C240. I never owned an RWD before, so I don't really know what to expect. In other words - is RWD a lot worse than FWD in the snow/slush/ice?

Thx,
zxc1

Mercedes are scooting all over the alps each winter with ski racks on top.

With ESP and traction control you are just as good in comparision with most front wheel drive autos. If you want to drive circles around all front wheel drives and most 4 wheel drives....get a winter set of wheels mounted with Blizzak tires. Check out TireRack on web or in most car mags.

In the spring put the high performance rubber back on.

I've had RWD for years and never really was a problem. You just learn to not accellerate while turning. . Turn carefully, then aim straight, then gun it. ;-)

Lightbulb Snow Balling w/RWD

When I lived in the upper midwest years ago, I drove BMW's and we all know of their propensity for massive oversteer in the wet and snow. Mounting good snow tires on all four wheels solved the problem. I would like to think M-B's would do well with four of them, too.

Let's see, I believe the weather man said is was going to be in the 80's later this week. SNOW? ...RAB
