Brake Wear Question

I just changed mine at 57,000 miles. Wear indicators did not trigger warning light but the pads were crumbling and the front rotors were warped. For my type of driving, 45,000 miles would have been safer estimate.

I just took my car to get it serviced and the rep told me that I needed new rotors and brake pads. My car has 30k on it and I can't remember to have ever changed brake pads at 30k miles.
