Anybody have any recommendations on a used car that would be good for Michigan all year round. I'm not familiar with the snow and rain conditions in Michigan because I've always lived in California. I know someone that wants to buy a used car there, but I'm not sure what cars are good choices. A college student that will be by herself and is not familiar with cars. Looking for a safe and reliable car so that it can be driven all year round, snow, rain, etc. I understand traction control should be a good thing to look for.

Also, when looking for a used car in Michigan, anything I should look for? Anything that the snow or winters do to cars?

I guess the price range would be around $8,000-$15,000?
