My complement to all for contributing to such a great and resourceful site. I been lurking....I mean looking for a while now and have done a few searches and came up with nada. I looking for the consensuses of using a car cover. Be it a from MB or from another distributer like Griot's. I just picked up my CDI a week ago and its been raining almost everyday so I haven’t had a chance to wash and clean it (as per the sticky in the detailing forum), but when I do I want to protect my new investment. I have no shade to park in at work and I don’t want the sun baking my dash, interior and paint. If I get a cover Should I just dust it dry, (California Duster), use a Detailing spray or just cover it up.

Thanks in advance

I have one but I only put it on when the car is really, really clean (which helps it stay that way longer). No matter how soft they are, over time they will still rub dirt and scratch the clearcoat.

I can't remember where I saw them or if they're still made but there was a company that made these wraparound things for the exterior glass, they went on the outside and closed into the doors. Good for protecting the interior, but not much help on the paint.

Personally I use Four Star's products and make sure to reapply UPP periodically. If it protects the finish as much as it leaves it beautiful, I have nothing to worry about.

Congrats on the wheels, it's a nice ride.
