MBs safety reputation in Sweden
Today there was a poll on a pretty hard trafficed swedish website asking what car felt "most safe". You could see a pretty big bias to the swedish brands but still. The results were as follows:

I'm sure that in the U.S., Volvo would again do very well. Over the years, much of Volvo's marketing has been designed to sell the idea of safety above any of the car's other features. It is interesting to note that a number of very important safety features were pioneered by MB. In fact years ago, MB had a commercial in which they were interviewing, I think, an MB engineer. He pointed out a list of safety features pioneered, and patented by MB. He also mentioned that MB has never enforced any of the patents. In his words: "Some things are too good not to share."
