Does anyone know what this is and have they used it?
It is available from Mercedes for €1608.00 and is classed as an accessory so must be something rather substantial.

Logmatic is a data logging software package. It came out in the mid '05 models.

Fully automatic travel book Logmatic Logmatic is a fully automatic travel book for the fiscal KFZ account. It notes all necessary data for business travels and private travels in the vehicle automatically. Thus it saves the often quite unfavorable overall taxation, which results during the private use of company cars to the vehicle owner, if no travel book is led. That can mean some thousands euro tax refund per year.
Acknowledgment by the tax office
The tax offices demand a complete recording of all travels. During private travels meet date and odometer reading, which the system seizes automatically. And back Logmatic recognizes way to work travels from the dwelling to the job automatically, if the driver address and the location address of the job were entered.
With official travel all necessary data must be registered in the data base. Those are usually date, odometer reading, type of travel, goal name, destination, partner and travel purpose. At special occupational groups, e.g. physicians, are enough date, odometer reading, type of travel and destination address. These data can be transferred without additional keyboard entries immediately to the travel book.
Despite the large automation of the recordings the user must examine the correctness of the recordings.
Logmatic corresponds then to the legal requirements for travel books. A warranty for the acknowledgment cannot be given however. In the case of doubt the customers should inquire with the responsible tax office.
