another ebay Joker..
While having fun scanning ebay motors, I came across an oddity, so I looked further... it was a 1979 240D with a buy it now price of $9999... so I figured it was maybe in mint condition with <20000Miles... so I clicked on it and found this 1979 240D ...
this guy claims this is a collectable car... so I challenged him on that.. and here is his reply to me (btw, he dropped the buy it now to $3500.. so I think my point sunk in). I think he was just waiting for a sucker!

I was a university professor and it was a job I enjoyed for many years. In addition, I have been in the car business for many years like you, and I have many collectibles. The word collectible is anything that is rare and has the potential of having an appreciating value. Is my car rare, yes. Will the price appreciate rather than depreciate, yes. So my definition fits my advertisement. While Ebay is not the forum to extrapolate this simple English word, I would urge you to bid on a rare car that has potential of future rising value.
