External,electric fuel pumps still the norm on MB?

External,electric fuel pumps still the norm on MB?
It used to be on the older MB's you could hear the sound of the fuel pump when you stood behind the car while it was running.. do they still use those external pumps back by the fuel tank? or are they engine driven pumps now?
