Introduce myself
My name is Tony, my username is Ferryman and is related to my occupation, managerial at the Amsterdam Ferrycompany.
Through the years since 1968 I've owned several MB's, from the '66 190 petrol via several diesels to my latest purchase, a nice CLK 200 Elegance which I just bought in (where else) Germany.
A seamless car, low miles and with the right engine, regarding to fuelprices these days in Europe.
I hope to contribute to and learn from this great forum.
Tony.
You won't believe what taxsystem we have here.
I brought it up to the officials together with all the paperwork, those Germans do their job well. Previous owner was mentioned including his adress and of course a full servicehistory is there.
Even the official factory releasenote, which declares the vehicle leaving the plant (Bremen) in good order ready for traffic, was there.
It's a six pages document that mentions everything about the car, from painthistory to accepted rim- and tyresizes, dimensions everything.
Never seen this before on a pre-owned vehicle.
But than comes the import to The Netherlands, they check every single bit to be genuine, besides chassis- and engine number they check what options there are, is it all to Elegance specs? I have to pay tax for every non-mentioned option.
I expect to be on the road within a week from now, so we will see.
Tony.
