Master European Delivery Discussion

Greetings from a bimmer fan, who might consider the R Class 2 years from now. As you can guess, I like to start early

BMW has a very attractive European Delivery program and a lot of us regulars use it to get really cheap leases. Some of the popular BMW forums have a dedicated European Delivery Folder with a lot of useful information. I did not find one here. Hopefully the mods, can open one which can become a place holder for interesting ED information.

I have a few questions:

1. Does this forum have an invoice/MSRP listing for different cars and their options?

2. With regards to the ED program, does the pricing structure move down by 7% (US MSRP/Invoice to ED MSRP/Invoice) or is it a fixed 7% of US MSRP with no room for negotiations up from ED Invoice?

FWIW, my new 2006 525 nicely equipped with Premium & Sports Packages, Navigation, Steptronic, Xenons and Park Distance Control, has a pre-tax cost of less than $400 on a 24 month lease done via the ED program (I used the multiple security deposit scheme) with the dealer making a decent 4 figures profit.

Welcome to the forum. Are you saying you got a 2k6 525 for $400 a month for 24 months? You mentioned something about multiple security deposit...how much out of pocket was the total?

Thanks,
Erik

Yes. My car has a sticker of $50K plus. I paid about $5K less. The 24 month/10K Mile residual was 77% of MSRP and the MF was 0.0016 marked up to 0.0019 for the ED Markup (which includes 1 free payment) reduced by 0.00025 by putting 5 extra refundable SDs ($2250). My net payment after 8.25% tax is $422 though I paid the $625 acquisition fee up front. This is for a 2006 525 with the new 3.0l engine and Sports, Premium, Navigation, PDC and Xenons.

BMWFS has since enhanced the Multiple security deposit program and allows you to buy down the rate by 0.00007 for each SD up to 7. So you can reduce your MF by 0.0049 (or about 1.25%) by putting 7 extra refundable SDs. BTW the SD is the nearest multiple of $50 based on your car payment including tax. In my case a payment of $422 means a SD of $450. Also they waive the main security deposit requirement for returning leasees. So I had to put down 5 deposits and not 6. They also waive the disposition fee for folks who are leasing new cars while turning the old one in.

I know people who are paying in the 300s for the 525 leases with a car is less options (like just the Premium package).

Plus if you are a BMW CCA member you get $1000 cash back for the 5 series, and a 2 for 1 airfare deal on Lufthansa. Sweet deals. And did I mention free maintenance . So no out of pocket costs unless I burn through the tires in 20K miles.

The R-class is made in Alabama.

European Delivery seems a little uneconomical!

You can take advantage of the Alabama delivery program for the R, GL and ML:

- One night stay at the Motel 6
- Free continental breakfast of grits
- Coupon for $10 off at the Piggly Wiggly
- Tour of the factory in modified monster golf carts

Comparable to the ED program
