DaimlerChrysler - Class Action Suit in NY court re S. Africa Apartheid Support
While cruising the German papers re floods, I found this front page story in todays DIE WELT, Germany's leading paper.
It relates to a class-action lawsuit on behalf of S. Afrians, claiming that Daimler Chrysler was in violation of the UN embargo in 1977, by providing vehicles - UNIMOGS - to the police and the S. African army.
The suit is to be presented in the NY district court by "Star" attorney Edward (ED)Fagan.
The second focus of the suit, according to the WELT article, accuses the defendant from profiteering from slave-labor during the Apartheid-Regime.
