Any Audi converts in here?

Live in Toronto where winter can put snow on the ground from November to April.

Did you make the switch to RWD? Any regrets?

As a side note, how do you know if you're a CLK person, CLS person, or a CL person? I guess it depends what you can afford!

There are AWD MB's in case you didn't know. I'm a fan of both Audi and MB. I love them the same. *Flame suit on*

As long as you have a dedicated winter set of tires you will be fine with RWD. A problem most face is they get all season tires and they are not made for winter driving. But you can get a C, E, S, with 4 maitc as an option. Or the G class ML and GL and R are 4wd.

But after looking at some audis no offense to audi owners you get much more value for the dollar in BMW and MB.

Yeah. I've driven FWD with dedicated snow tires and never had a problem.

I know I'll "get through" winter but I much prefer AWD to FWD in winter.

It's too bad there's no 4 matic on AMG cars, that would make my decision easy!

Oh and I disagree on the value proposition.

Whether you're comparing A4 vs 3 series vs C
or
A6 vs 5 series vs E

I think Audi gives you the most bang for the buck.

But Mercedes is Mercedes..or at least it used to be...not sure about quality any more...sigh.

Lightbulb Audis

I have looked at Audis and think they are fine automobiles. In my personal opinion though, Mercedes and Porsche outshine both BMW and Audi. For the money, I think VW can be a good choice.

I have very little snow here, but I was considering a certain 4-matic and started a thread among W210 owners asking their opinions. Without exception, everybody who owned an E320 4-matic loved them. Winter driving was not the only reason either - they also seem to have much more stability in a heavy rain.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.
