night vision
Is it exclusive only for the S class, arent these saftey features?
I dont understand why these innovations are not fitted to the rest of the lineup?
Are the other models not worthy?

Its new and expensive and will trickle down the MB lineup in a few years. Plus the night vision on the S class last time I checked was on backorder.... So if they do not have enough for the S class even if it was an option for any other MB model you are still going to wait a year or so.
But I really dont see how night vision is a safety item, to me its more of a fun gadget, if you cant see well at night you should not be driving at night. I really dont see distronic as a safety item either its more of a comfort item for highway driving people having been driving fine without it for over 125 years.

Leaving it on only one model makes it more desirable.
AndrewAZ-- The Night Vision Assist and Distronic Plus can be seen as safety features. Instead of using the brights, you can use the NVA. Using the brights on all the time, while nice, poses as a danger to oncoming traffic, they'll momentarily go blind if they don't look away, and they could drift into your lane, thus leading to a head on collision.
Same with the Distronic Plus, used with the Brake Assist Plus, if the system senses you are heading into the car ahead of you too fast, it will alert you. If you don't react in time, the car will stop itself, avoiding a rear end collision. (I believe that's how it works.)
