HELP - Is this car overpriced???
My boss is looking at buying a 1987 560 SL coupe/sportster. My understanding is it has both hard and soft tops. He says the car is is excellent condition. the mileage on the vehicle is 41,000 miles. I ran a value from NADA and I show about $19,800 for the retail value even after the milage adjustments. The dealer is asking $30,900, I personally was thinking this is way high, over value for a vehicle, but I do not know much (if anything) about MB. Does anyone have an idea if this price seem outragous or fair? Thanks for the help!!

I guess my question is realy, Is thiis car rare or special in some way to make it worth the 10K+ premium the dealer is asking.
I personally know nothing of mercedes so I don't know if this is a rare vehicle or could one be found at a cheaper price?

Sounds like the dealer is fishing for suckers. You can always make a reasonable offer based on blue book values etc. Give 'em your name and number and tell them if they come to their senses you'll buy it for $$,$$$ They won't make any money if its just sitting on their lot.
