D-C's Current Management is Hellbent on...
'Crossfire in the Crosshairs'
....
"The resemblance [of the Chrysler Crossfire] to Mercedes is no coincidence: Crossfire borrows nearly 40 percent of its parts from Chrysler's German partner, including a 215-hp 3.2 liter V6 linked to a six speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission."
My first prediction, ladies and gentlemen, is that this is the crack in a door that D-C management will open wider to Chrysler in the immediate future in order to jack-up short-term profits (and their bonuses) at D-C. My second prediction is that within three years we'll be seeing Mercedes re-skinned as Chryslers and vice versa. (The very thought of THAT makes me want to puke.) And my third prediction is: if/when Cadillac and/or Lincoln get their styling acts together, within 7-10 years they will blow D-C out of the water.
Ford is using Ford parts in the production of the Jaguar. I feel that this dilutes the Jaguar image.
I hope that you are wrong about MBs relabeled as Chrysler, for that would hurt some of the exclusivity of having a MB. However, it would not surprise me if this did indeed happen. It seems to work for the japanese brands.
