My Next MB Purchase

K guys here's the deal.

I have a '90 190E 2.6 with ever accumulating miles. 226,000 and counting. b

I don't think it's going to last much longer without something goin wrong like the tranny.

I have been looking at other benzes in my area and I have narrowed it down to a few. Tell me what you guys think of the choices so far.

1st, a 1984 240D with 130,000 miles. White, great condition for about 3500 bucks.

2nd, is a 300CD with 145,000 miles. It is beige with a nice interior but there are a few problems that need to be fixed. I've tried to contact the owner but have had no luck. Thnking about giving up on this listing. 4500 bucks

3rd is a 1989 300TE with only 49,000 miles. Appears to be in outstanding condition. 6999 bucks

4th is a 1989 300CE with a little over 130,000 miles. Appears to be in outstanding condition as well. A lot of money was poured into it recently. 5500 bucks

Here is some more information about my needs. I drive about 40 miles a day on average. I am leaning towards the diesels because of their great gas mileage. I do nothing but highway driving both ways. My dad is a MB tech paying for labor is not a problem. All I need to worry about is the cost of parts.

His advice is that I get a Honda... But, I'm hooked on MBs. Thanks for any advice guys!

Of those choices I like #4 the most, the 1989 300CE. Classy car and if a lot of money was recently poured into that means you won't have to do the same, at least for while.

I'd recommend you get a Honda, too. As hooked as you may think you are on MB, judging by your budget for a Mercedes, I doubt you'll really want to shell out for the price of Mercedes parts when stuff needs replacing.

How about a newer 94+ C class. Newer style shaped, cheaper on parts, and the price range is around the same.
