i'm going on vacation for about 3 weeks and was looking for some discounts on mini-vans, tried costco but they did not save me any money, can somebody point me in the right direction.

Go to the website directly... check whether they have special deal. Try one by one. If you're not going during holiday season (i.e. Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc.), just wait until the last minute. Most companies have last-minute deals. I usually try to find one within a week before picking it up.

Depends on area... I often go to Philly, and the best deal is usually from Dollar or Alamo. For SF Bay Area, usually Dollar or Thrifty or Budget. Hertz is sometimes the cheapest also.

Budget, AVIS, Hertz and Thrifty usually has a special code that you could google. It takes a bit work... but it could save you a lot.
