Thank God for Police Aircraft

I was heading up our wonderful I-280 yesterday, doing my usual xxx MPH, when I caught a glimpse of a fixed-wing aircraft crossing the freeway about 5 miles ahead of me. Ever-vigilant, I slowed down to 80 and sure enough, it was a CHP plane. Right under it were two cruisers, one with radar. I was very proud of myself, but of course my wife said "If you didn't drive like ..." Women!

Hey... hahaha you can easily go over 120mph on that freeway especially by junction hwy 92. I have to agree with you, gotta watch those air patrol units.

It always seems that good luck follows those who pay attention. Good job.

Daly City to San Francisco is ab out the only only place in Northern California I can think of, that is perfect for triple digit speeding in a good car. Traffic is usually really light, and it has many lanes, only a few gentle curves, and is properly banked.

I know it is heavily patrolled by the CHP, and used by them to generate traffic fines.

I am glad you got away. Many people didn't.

Actually, that CHP Cessna 210 aircraft, doesn't need cruisers on the ground to monitor your speed. They'll just radio it ahead to pull you over, so if you see their plane too late and they've clocked you, it wouldn't do you any good to slow down.

Glad you got away
