Who will I get the best action from?
OK, I have already explained about my wife's ML's tranny in another post, in another forum. To make a long story short...there was a $2,300 bill and MB picked up $1,400 (She is 10,000 mils past warranty). My take is that this is a DEFECT in the car and not something that happened from wear and tear...so they should cover the repair. I know they are not REQUIRED to, but I think being MB that they should.
Now the service guy has already talked to someone who gave him the authorization to cover $1,400. My question is, who is the best person to call to complain (politely) and try and get the rest covered? What would be my best bet? Thanks very much for any advice!
P.S. MB covered all labor. We had to pay parts, which were an Air Mass Sensor, a T/C control (?) and motor (?), and a Carrier Bear (??).

As you state:
At 60,000 miles you/wife are 10,000 past warranty.
Since you did NOT get extended MB warranty within the first year, MB has no
obligation to even pay the $1,400. Pay the $900 and get an extended warranty from
a vendor that covers you to 100,000 miles - if you want to keep the car. This
subject was recently discussed extensively and you can do a search on EXTENDED
WARRANTY.
If you don't want to purchase such coverage, trade vehicle in, - because additional
major repairs may or may not follow - and $1,400 dealer freebees may or may not
follow.
My guesstimate: Those freebies are history!!
