S 500 ?
Mercedes S class w-140 sedan?
I'm looking at model years 92-99, either the S500 or S600. I have always liked the presence of this car. The newer version just does not have the same "on road" presence.
I know about the dreaded "evaporator" repair and the wiring harness problems. I am looking for actual owners of this car and their opinions. Or ppl who have driven this version compared to the LS 400.
I really like the S600 engine(power) and the all leather interior(dash etc.), wood steering wheel and shift knob and so forth. However their seems to be two camps divided on the reliability of the S600. One side say's that the maintenance/upkeep is dramatically more than the S500 and the other camp say's that it's no big deal and they have no more upkeep problems than an S500 or any other S class engine for that matter.
Opinions?..................
