sticky gas (as syrop)

My 76 mercedes 450 sl , was in the garage for 3 years, the gas become very sticky inside the tank. What shell I do to clean this mass , or what is the best way to clean the tank without taking it off and clean the fuel pump and the lines to the injectors, please.
Thanks Sam

You may be in for more work than you think. All fuel system components are most likely contaminated with this old bad fuel. I would remove the tank to clean it, replace the fuel lines and fuel pump and filters. Then I would remove all engine injector lines and injectors and replace them. Next time use a fuel stabilizer in the system.
