1989 300TE
looking for opinions on aftermarket parts and places to buy them.

I recently bought a 300TE and it needs a the center piece of the exhaust pipe
(the piece with the resonator) and would like to know if the exhaust pieces that Autozone, Pep Boys, O'Reilly's, and countless other parts stores like this sell are of good quality.

Also, keeping on this subject but with other parts, are there things you would (or would not) buy from places like this, things you would only suggest to get from the dealer ship.

it seems that from my reading that.

plugs and wires are dealership, Beru, and some other high end wires.
Anti-Freeze is a dealership item

what about general maintenance things like thermostat, radiator hoses, belts, distributer cap and rotor.

last thing that I can think of, things like gaskets and seals (head, manifolds, oil pan, etc, etc), timing chain and all the timing bits n' pieces.

Hoping some people can give comments and opinions on this, it seems that certain aftermarket parts would be perfectly fine like thermostats, belts, exhaust pipes.
