CD Changer Installation
I am interested in having the M-B CD changer installed by my dealer and am being quoted 2 hours labor for installation.
My question is: based on the labor involved, how much of the dash and interior do they pull apart to do the install? Does everything fit back together correctly or do I end up with rattles in the dash?
Thank you for your replies...

Out Of Control!
Hey Richard / E320!
If the dealer is installing the changer they would take apart the center console and the door panel(running the cables on the side if they install the changer from the trunk) so 2hrs sounds reasonable. If the dealer has a good experience of installing cd changer there should be no rattling sound. Why not get an aftermarket changer? It's cheaper than what the dealer is offering? (my dealer wants $1000.00+)?? Are they crazy or what?

CD Changer
Richard this is not a hard install on a 96 and up E class. I put one in my sister's E 320 last week. In the 99 and up the fiber optic cable is already in the trunk from the factory. Took about thirty minutes, and fully mounted. I even bought a MB CD changer through a Stereo retailer who is importing them from Holland. Has the logs and everything. Cost $548.00 including shipping and the mounting bracket. Came with one magazine for the changer. The only difference is it does not have the fuzzy MBUSA cover like the one in my E430. Otherwise Identical. Hope this helps.
