yes, thanks, I've thoroughly read and tried the various suggested remedies.

I've run it in various browsers and versions of java. I've even run EPC on an XP virtual machine using older java and IE versions.

The error has to do with a missing Manifest file that Java itself is punting on, saying it is no longer valid.

I've written EPC and hope they may have some input on this.

EPC responded and informed me that their Software is not compatible with Java beyond 7.45. I loaded up an XP SP3 VM with Explorer 8 and Java 7.45, and everything works fine.

I assume one could also run a win 7 machine with similar results, but I already had an XP build, as my Audi VCDS programs requires XP to run.

I subscribed to EPCNET but keep getting the message that my VIN is invalid. I am staring at it and looks okay, any thoughts? The VIN is:

May be it's a missed info in EPC. Make a full picture of this plate and send it directly in Daimler AG - sometimes they make answer from archives only with faxed copies of paper documents for oldtimers, because electronic DB's have no this info.
