Service recommendation Panama City, Florida / Panhandle
I usually do not make recommendations on a public forum but must make an exception in this case. The reason is simple; in this area (Florida Panhandle) there is really no place to get proper service for our kind of cars. I had some unpleasant experiences with two Indies in town who shall remain nameless. I also had my personal mechanic who was outstanding but left over night. This left me in search of a new Independent Garage. One which specializes in Mercedes and other European brands. A friend of mine made a recommendation and I promptly investigated.
I was referred to Automotive Alternatives on 541 S. Tyndall Parkway in Tyndall / Panama City. The owner's name is Paul Sandifer. I am most likely the biggest skeptic, with the biggest trust issues and notorious for covering every area in my car to keep it clean with foil and so on (I'm a pain). I also instruct every mechanic to keep it clean. Upon arriving, Paul greeted me promptly, he listened to my issues and concerns with a lot of patience. He explained how he works and left me with a great impression. He communicates very well and is very upfront. He has an immense knowledge of every Mercedes Series, especially the W126, W210 and W124's. Same holds true in regards to the Porsche 911's and 924 / 944's.
To make a long story short; he did a phenomenal job on my car and got it to perform like a new Benz again, he has patience, listens and hears you and to top it off, he is very reasonable, fair and truly honest. I can whole heartedly recommend his operation. He is a one man show and you deal with the owner directly. He has earned my business, my families business and that of several friends. He specializes in Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Jaguar, Saab and never ever will touch anything domestic. He has all the proper tools and computers. He will give you and your car the deserving attention. I give him a big thumbs up. I hope this will help some of you out that reside in or around this area. It is truly worth the trip.
