Tracks for practicing?

How can I find a nice track to run my car at? Not for racing, but just for practicing in a safe environment with curves and everything. I live in NY, metro area.

There are several tracks that are available for rent when not in use. The big kicker is the waiver of liability, the cost which includes safety equipment, personel, and a huge liability policy that you are required to purchase with them as an insured. Estimated cost would be in the 30K per day range.
