Advice about buying Mercedes online
I have been looking at some CLK's online and was wondering how I can confidently buy a car without seeing it in person? I realize there are resources such as carfax, but I would feel more confident if an actual mechanic inspected the car. Is there typically mechanics in most areas that will provide this service? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is your plan to find a mechanic in the phone book and have the seller bring it there? I personally wouldn't do it unless I could also be present during the inspection.

try carchex.com. I have used them before and they give a basic inspection and test drive it for issues(make sure you ask for that). If you want something more elaborate..someone to test for codes etc..then you might want to have the seller take it to a Mercedes dealer for inspection at your cost.

I will never ever buy a car sight unseen regardless of how reputable the seller is..
I just purchased a CPO '06 E55 with 18K miles that was dlivered to me by the Mercedes dealership..They had the car parked inside the showroom that's how nice the car was..
Any way to cut the long story short, the moment i took the car out for a spin ( the delivery man was gone ) i found out the car had a vibration and road noise..It took me 3 visits over a month period to have the dealership figure out what the problem was ( Bad tires )
So the ****ing Mercedes dealer certified the car with out even looking at the tires
Point is...
Go look at the car, smell the interior and drive the car before buying it...every car drives different..
