HELP CHOOSING A BENZ!

Hi guys,
I am a former BMW owner and I have switched over!...hahaha....so I am now a member on here instead of the "bimmerforums"...

I am deciding between two c230s.....here goes

1. 2003, Silver, leather interior, 17 inch rims, 83,000 kms, NO sunroof, no warranty, from a dealer

2. 2003, Black, cloth interior, 16 inch rims (extra set of rubber), 120,000kms, panaramic sunroof, 4 years warranty (FULL coverage with wear and tear), in private

Both are the same price.....what do you guys think??....I'm leaning toward black because I like the sunroof and the 4 year warranty.....
but i'm missing out on leather interior and less kms?......

help!!!...opinions!!...?????

I would lean towards the dealer vehicle with warranty, however, if you shop you may find anther couple to choose from as I do not like the thoughts of a cloth interior.

Hi,

yeah I hear ya on that one but I won't be able to afford it with a comprehensive warranty on the dealer one. Powertrain warranties are good for the major parts, but I'd want something more comprehensive....thats the only thing.........

maybe I should buy a scratch ticket....haha...

Sound to me like financially this car will be in the extreme upper range as to what you can afford. Thats starting out on the wrong foot. If anything goes wrong you will be in trouble. Perhaps you should look for an older less expensive car.

Hi,

no no...its not "extreme upper range"....
I'm a school teacher and I have $8000 and want to finance the rest...

the black one is 10gs and 2500 for warranty on top + tax

the silver one is 12000 no warranty + tax....

so the silver is a bit too much because I don't want the car becoming a 14-15000 dollar car...

the black will be a 13000 car WITH warranty....(4 years at that)....

its not like I'll be in a financial mess, I just rather be more conservative right now if I can......thats all....

C230 Is Too Small And Slow

I too wanted a C230 and I bought a 2005 granitte Gray with black leather interior, 34K very clean. About four months later I sold it and bought a CLK500. My wife was so pissed off! I would look around before buying a C230 for the same price you can get and E-class or even a CLK320-350 it's a hudge differance in what you get for the money, Also if you read the forum the C-class is rated for about 1ooK miles, looks great before you buy ...but after it's only an entry level Mercedes Benz. I am only telling you this because I wish I had got the same advice, and got it right the first time.

Good Luck!
Paul
