Deer Collision Avoidance ("Deer Created or Saved?")

Has anyone tried those little deer warning whistles that you tape or glue on?
Seems like a waste of time and money to me (how could you ever know that they worked?--I guess you could count the number of "deers created or saved" if you were in the gov't I guess) but I thought I'd ask in case someone has some hard evidence or information on those things.

If they actually work, it would be worth finding a hidden place to glue them on, but I'm skeptical.

Here's a site that sells them, they have "studies" and "90%" effective, but it's the internet, so who knows what the truth is (one of the studies misspells "manner" as "manor")

They do not work at all. In reality there is nothing that will prevent a deer collision except a smart deer.
