Dealer says you can't have the MCO/MSO...Wtf?
I'm trying to figure out whether this is true or just dealer bull**** to justify a lofty doc prep fee.
My home state says I need the MSO/MCO (Manufacturers certificate of origin) to register the vehicle myself under a certain exemption that applies to servicemen.
California MB dealer says I cannot have the MCO due to export restrictions posed on them by MB USA. I think it's a ploy to legitimize the doc prep fee they want to charge me. As I'm doing all the legwork myself, I'm not paying them anything for it. Has anybody run into this?
