S500 Key, can it be saved
One of my S500 keys fell into the engine compartment and was lost for two years. Recently had some work done to car and Rudi found it. After putting in new batterys, the key does not work. Is there any way to get the electronics of the key removed from the shell to trouble shoot it.
I hope this falls within the subject matter of this forum, if not, forgive a newcomer.
Thanks,
Chicago Mike

The chips in those things will hold programming for a limited period of time to allow you to change batteries without losing the info.
I suspect yours went too long with no power so new batteries alone won't work.
Take it to yopur dealer and have it reprogrammed.
