Selling Cars on Ebay...
It is a $40 fee to list the car (plus hosting pictures and special features, pictures are 15 cents each I believe and some special features are a few dollars) and then there is a final value fee at the end of the auction and it is a percentage of the total cost.
Closing Value Final Value Fee
$0 - $25-- 5.25% of the closing value
$25 - $1,000-- 5.25% of the initial $25 ($1.31),
balance ($25.01 to $1,000)
Over $1,000-- 5.25% of the initial $25 ($1.31),
plus 2.75% of the initial $25 - $1000 ($26.81),
plus 1.50% of the remaining balance ($1000.01 - closing value)
Ill be more then happy to sell your car, for a fee, of course
Is this the kind of info. your looking for?
He didn't get what I felt was a great price for it. This was about four years ago and it sold for maybe $2500 less than he would have got for it as a trade-in. So a normal private party sale would have netted him maybe $5000 more. Add to that all of the fees that Turbo2 mentioned and I think you would do better selling it locally. Especially if you are selling a relatively common car.
To add insult to injury, the buyer was actually pissed that the NSX wasn't in pristine condition when he came to pick it up. Come on, buddy, even an expensive professional detailing job isn't going to cost more than $200.
Cheers, BT
