Mercedes Dealer Extended Warranty

I have to ask for some advice about a extended warranty on my 2007 GL450. It’s about to come out of the 4 year factory warranty and I want to extended the coverage on the truck until 100,000 miles (Currently has 40,000). I’ve called my local dealer and they are quoting me about $6000 for 3 more years’ coverage.

Is this a good price? Does the price change from dealer to dealer?
Any advice on this would be priceless.
Thank you.

Prices are negotiable and they are probably quoted you the list price. The MB warranty is by far the best available.

Has anyone worked with a dealer who is willing to negotiate on the price?

Scroll down on this forum. There is another thread in which a couple of people are mentioned by name.

Its always best to purchase your extended factory warranty thru the dealership. This way it will always be recognized as a factory warranty. Some have had bad experiences with aftermarket warranty companies cancelling their warranties, and not refunding all their money, as it is on a pro-rated basis. And some will not honor certain repairs. So factory is the way to go.
